Anand Karaj

Anand Karaj1

The Sikh marriage is called ‘Anand Karaj’ which means the ceremony of joy. The Sikh wedding is held in the morning in a Gurdwara in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

One Soul in Two Bodies

“They are not said to be husband and wife, who merely sit together. Rather they alone are called husband and wife, who have one soul in two bodies.”

(Guru Amar Das Ji, Pauri, pg 788, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji)
