We arranged for Mr Pritpal Singh Makan to come in on the final day, during One World Week for our Year 4 class. The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit, especially the turban demonstration and the music. Mr Pritpal Singh Makan was engaging and the children had lots of opportunities to further develop their understanding of the Sikh religion. We had asked if the focus could be on the main celebrations. Mr Pritpal Singh Makan really brought Sikhism to life. It was a perfect way of ending our One World Week learning in depth about a different religion and culture.

Dear Pritpal,
Thank you very much for visiting St Dunstan’s Primary school to help the children learn about Sikhism during Other Faiths Week.
You were very accommodating and understanding. Your delivery to the children was age appropriate and you had great questioning skills to challenge them.
My class (Year 1) particularly enjoyed the music and were very engaged.
I would love to have you back in future and would highly recommend you and the amazing work you do for the community to other schools.

Thank you so much for your visiting Sacred heart today. The Year 5 children learnt so much in such a small time (two hours condensed to one). You will be glad to know that we did a follow up task in the afternoon and they all could answer everything I threw at them.

Thank you for coming to our Multi-Cultural Week. Our Year 5 children really enjoyed learning about the Sikh religion and had a fun and interesting afternoon. We particularly enjoyed the singing! I learned a lot too!

What a fantastic morning! Thank you for an informative and fun session on Sikhism. All the children thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and working with you. The activities were great and it was lovely that the children were involved in the whole session, participating in activities and asking lots of questions!! It was truly a pleasure to have you as a visitor at our school and we are already looking forward to next years faith week and your visit!

Thank you for a fantastically planned and delivered session on Sikhism. My Year 6 children were still buzzing and talking about it when they came back in from dinner.
You have a brilliant manner with the children and gave lots of opportunities for the children to ask questions. They especially enjoyed the meditation session and learning how to tie a turban.
A fantastic visit in our multi-faith week which I am sure we will be talking about for a long time.

Pritpal visited our school as part of an SMSC Experience Day with our Year 9 pupils. He was brilliant! The feedback from staff and pupils alike was extremely positive. Comments from pupils include ‘the best part of the day was when we listened to Pritpal play the instrument and his meditation session.’ ‘I liked the Sikhism session the most because Pritpal spoke about what he believes in really well’.
